I am sharing three ways to get out of loneliness and into belonging in your dating life. Because, dating, most of the time, is lonely and frustrating. Let me share a story:

A few years back, I was in a toxic relationship.
I met him on Bumble, and at first, I thought it was perfect.
We said “I love you” quickly, and I felt relief.
Finally, someone who doesn’t think I’m “too much.”
Finally, someone to prove that I don’t have to be alone.
Then after a few months, it became abundantly clear that we were not on the same page.
He didn’t want a long-term commitment.
Our values were completely different.
I found myself begging him to love me the way I wanted to be loved.
I made tons of excuses, stuffed my needs away, and spent days in deep anxiety spirals, trying to figure out how to make this work.

I was ashamed to tell anyone about my situation because I knew I was accepting less than I deserved. 

Following that dating experience, I was stewing in a hot soup of loneliness. If that sounds like you, I want to support you. So today I offer three ways you can get out of loneliness. 

Three Ways To Get Out Of Loneliness In Your Dating Life Now:

• Follow people who normalize and love their singleness. Take inventory of your relationships (social media, included), take note of what triggers your loneliness, shift your time and your energy.  

• Journal why you feel lonely in your dating life and share this in a conversation with your closest friend.

• Find a community that gets you… with other single women that are right there with you (i.e. Celebrate Your Single-Self-Challenge!)
